Asian Shares Track Gains In WallStreet

The WallStreet rebound sent most Asian stocks higher.

Japan's Nikkei 225 average rose 1.9%, led by banking shares, on the policy of the Bank of Japan (BoJ) to purchase shares of several cash-strapped banks at a price higher than their market prices.

Shares of Hyundai Motor Co. led an 1% gain in Korea's Kospi index, as the government reported a higher-than-expected rise in manufacturing production.

Singapore-based STI also jumped 1%, led by the country's corporate giants.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 added on 14 points, as shares of BHP Billiton surged 2.7% on expectations that demand for metal products in the U.S. will remain stable.
