Ask a Question
Q: Is the return on mutual fund always higher than bank deposit rate? Does it depend on the company's performances?
A: Mutual fund performances indeed may be better or even worse than bank deposit. This is because a fund manager cannot guarantee fixed income. Moreover, a fund manager by ethics is not allowed to promise his investors that their portfolios will outperform deposit rate or other indicators. However, by investing your fund in mutual fund (fixed income, capital market, money market, or combined mutual fund), your money will be managed by the fund manager, who has strategies to increase the value of your portfolio.

Therefore, it's important for you to entrust your money to a fund manager with good track record and performances if you wish to invest it in mutual fund.
